Shree Durgasakha Charitable Trust is an NGO in Thane benefiting around 2500 children in tribal areas of Shahapur for the welfare of their education & livelihood.

In today’s world it is possible to give everything what our kids demand, but have we ever thought about those children who are not so privilege to get best for their lives. Many children in rural and tribal areas are not even getting basic necessities like food, clothing & shelter, for those education is like a dream.

Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life, the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one’s awareness on a range of issues from healthcare to appropriate social behavior to understanding one’s rights and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen.

Doubtless, education is the most powerful catalyst for social transformation.
Maharashtra is 4th most rural population state. In spite of right to education literacy rate is lower in these rural areas.
We as Shree Durgasakha recognise this problem and wanted to help rural and tribal children who are not getting enough facilities for education.
In recent Lord Ganesh Festival, we had come up with new strategy by approaching some Ganesh Utsav Groups and appealed them to use their donation box in wise way.
But how?
We suggested those Groups to collect donations in the form of education stationery & guess what? it started working.
People donated generously, funds and stationery collected from Ganesh Utsav groups has been delivered to one of the municipal rural schools in Naralwadi Village (Shahapur). Many have joined us and witnessed the happiness of giving, it was one of the best moments of life.
